NEW The Code Girls
Fun and emotional Loved the characters I absolutely loved this World War
2 saga Its a brilliant story about the cooks and code girls at Walsingham Hall The stars saga Its a brilliant story about the cooks and code girls at Walsingham Hall The stars the book are Maudie Ava Ruby and Bella They are new friends who have the extremely difficult task of cooking with rations for the Walsingham Hall family and the code girls The work is very tiring but over the years they all find time for romance There is great drama with a few tears along the way I really enjoyed the Bomb Girls so I decided to download this book as I figured I d be in for a good read The book was ok but I was a bit disappointed in it if I m honestMy one bit of criticism about the bomb girls was that
The Writing Was A Bit Rushed And writing was a bit rushed and the action bits of the story could ve been described better and dramatised a bit Unfortunately I found the writing in this book to be even rushed and potentially riveting scenarios which could ve had you on the edge of your seat were rather matter of factly dumped on a page with the action uickly over in less than two pages flat Bit of a missed opportunity there to make this a great bookThe other thing that I found completely inaccurate is that one of the main characters called Maudie grew up in Germany as a child before her parents moved to England and she speaks flawless fluent German and P Too many incorrect facts egWartime book and driving old landrovers they were not introduced until 1948Lancaster bombers twin engined they had fourFishing for tuna in the BalticHow did Kit get from a fishing boat in the Baltic onto a glider to parachute into NorwayEdward getting from Germany to England on a scruffy little liner in the middle of the war This is NOT what I expected we chose this for our book club Big mistake no body liked it I take that back one woman did but she likes romance novels The rest of us want a book with substance We thought this was going to be a real historically novel about the real code girls during the war in England And it was about 4 girls working in a kitchen and their romances Very trite predictable and like I said no character development all the woman were beautiful and the men were handsome Not very real loved this book Plucky British woman support the war effort by working downstairs as cooks and skivvies in a manor house used to tr. A heart warming and inspiring story of incredible women on the home front during World War II from the author of The Bomb GirlsCan four girls protect a whole country Its 1941 and the country has been turned upside down For the aristocratic Walsingham family this means being pushed unceremoniously upstairs while their grand home is taken over by the Army But for newcomers Ava and Maudie this is a chance to get something from life They are at Walsingham Hall to become code girls and break German encryptionsSo being sent downstairs to work in the kitchens isnt exactly what they had in mind But they do their duty make new friends and soon even romance looks to be on the horizon Though life is tough it has never been exciting Meanwhile upstairs Lord Walsingham is hiding something And Maudie and the girls realize that the safety of their country might actually be in their hands after all PREORDER NOWPREORDER THE BOMB GIRLS SECRETS NOWPr.
Daisy Styles ↠ 0 charactersSpitfire as carrying a bomb load She even has bombing raids carried out by the famous German fighter the as carrying a bomb load She even has bombing raids carried out by the famous German fighter the I have never read a book that overused the verb to giggle in as many ways and so often Weak plot heavily signposted after page two anyone could have finished the book off for her and it s a shame they didn t Daisy Styles is a name to look out for and then avoid I was disappointed by so many errors in the detail of the book errors which a reasonable amount of research would have avoided such as Flight Captain as a rank in the RAF WAAF personnel delivering aircraft it was the ATA Spitfires being classified as bombers they were used as fighter bombers later in the war but never as main bombers and I doubt if they were stationed at the same bases as the main bombers Tom has a Land Rover 6 Years Before They years before they designed Sorry but if you going to write about a subject either do your homework or get it checked by someone who knows the subject. Ly written book An excellent read from the relationships the cooking the love interests and the way war affected everyones lives A must readThis book had me gripped from the first page and I had it read in one sittingI

Ain woman coders Men bombers spies and other distractions ENLIVEN THEIR LIVES AND ALMOST ALL LIVE HAPPILY AFTER their lives and almost all live happily after was a great read Very emotional but spoilt for me by some factual errors The Lancaster Bomber Has Four Engines Not Lancaster bomber has four engines not I may be wrong but Suadron Captain is NOT a rank in the RAF but suadron leader is and I do not believe that retrospectively it is possible to locate by direction finding a radio transmission some time after the transmission has been made It s a live one time option hence the German use of D F vans to track down SOE transmissions as they happened in occupied FranceDaisy Styles refers to research books that she used in her story writing Perhaps her publisher could put the manuscript out for a technical read by a military historian or am I Seraphic Feather, tome 7 just a pedantic old fool of a reader If one is using the second world war as a backdrop surely it s necessary to do itustice otherwise it s all ust fiction And WW2 wasn t fiction was it I am fascinated by the lives of every day country people during W W II and I am particularly interested to read about ordinary women with aspirations to
such tasks as cod breaking and code writing Unfortunately this book doesn t live up to its title because thetasks as cod breaking and code writing Unfortunately this book doesn t live up to its title because the characters aren t code breakers nor does it live up to hyped up synopsis of the plot and story In fact this is a Penguin book and it is surprisingly light weight for a Penguin publication It will make me wary of their future books of a similar naturethis is like not particularly well written chick lit The characters are all beautiful young women or handsome young men with a few exceptions cast into roles that they never expected to fill The circumstances and the estate not to mention the locations and the hereditary owners aristocracy are all ust barely believable The main characters are even less credible though lovely people in and of themselves The plot is thin and the details stretch one s credulity rather than one s imagination I cannot really substantiate this without spoiling the plot but if you read it you will understand The author has struggled with writing a smooth flowing story and she persists in dropping in repetitious phrases lots of details about cigarettes full brand name each time and long phrases with extra words a cup of tea is always a parag. Aise for The Code GirlsFeisty young women a country house in wartime and a scheming aristocrat all ingredients for a cracking story with truly endearing characters Annie Murray bestselling author of Now The War Is OverPraise for Daisy StylesA great read that I think will appeal to fans of wartime sagas and authors like Donna Douglas From dances to disasters encounters with handsome Yanks rationing and relationships The Bomb Girls has all the ingredients of an excellent wartime drama and I thoroughly enjoyed it OnepagecomThe story is full of drama love heartbreak friendship and in some part some comedy Its full of twist and turns and is a real page turner LaurahbookblogHeres what the early readers are saying Loved loved loved it Cannot wait to read by this authorThis story tells the story of four very different young girls and how they come together to help the war effect in their own way would highly recommend to othersA beautiful. .
